Generally with a 35, I'm less worried about not having enough DOF since the FOV is so wide. I'm definitely more mindful with an 85. focalpointsphoto.com

The current desktop-based app you know as Lightroom is being rebranded as Lightroom Classic CC. Lightroom Classic will be desktop-oriented, while Lightroom CC will be cloud and mobile focused. They are rebranding Lightroom as Lightroom Classis CC and supposedly they improved performance and added a few extra features. https://petapixel.com …faster-lightroom-classic/ Matt K has a good breakdown of what this all means. http://mattk.com …room-cc-is-now-lightroom/ Seems like they're making mobile light-room more robust, and leaving light-room classic basically the same in terms of tools, but more cloud friendly. focalpointsphoto.com

Honestly, I'm actively trying to find a cloud-based solution to storing files since I'm burning through external hard drives like crazy, and I have more faith that my data won't be lost if stored by someone like adobe or google, than if it were all maintained on drives in my home. I just got a 1gb/s internet service that should theoretically make accessing cloud based files as fast or faster than most current external hard drives. They are catering to people that use phones or don't want to store their files on hard drives, is basically what it boils down to,for professionals, I really think they will skip the clouds based, then again maybe they want them to get on it to...which...allows them to sell you more cloud space. I shoot about 1.75 TB a year right now...what I can't figure out from Adobe, is what the cost is if you need more than the 1TB they give you as part of your CC Photography Plan...I just can't see using it...I don't have gigabit service, uploading a 128 GB shoot would take forever on my service...and I don't need access to it everywhere... mystik610 wrote in post #18475372 Generally with a 35, I'm less worried about not having enough DOF since the FOV is so wide. I'm definitely more mindful with an 85. In this case yeah my DOF was too shallow...weddings move so quickly that settings aren't always right. But this turned out nicely I think. Yes, they move so fast. This one was so close is why it made me ask the question, I think its fine as is...was just curious. 85 at 1.4, DoF is so thin unless you are a loooong way away! Charlie wrote in post #18475388 That IS the case here, and it works out fine. Based on the image, I'de think that it would be at least F8 to get them both in focus, however, with the bride clearly in the front, I think OOF and perception of being in the front works out much better. If they were closer side by side, then the expectation of both being in focus would matter more IMO. I think you could stop down less than f/8 and get them both, maybe f4, hard to say. this past weekend, I was shooting 85mm and at 2.8 and 3.2 and I could get stacked people in focus, filling the frame. Travis, they are going strictly cloud based after the next standalone update I believe. After 2017 you won’t get any standalone updates as I understand it Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Cloud based is also handy when you're told to evacuate your house with 15 minutes notice like I had to do last week Monday as the firestorm was heading toward my house. I did manage to grab my backup drives and my laptop, but had to leave the desktop PC behind.
