Dec 07, 2017 13:04 | #8480 I've been using Capture One Pro since I don't really have another option right now. There's a lot to like about it, but its such a sluggish software. Takes forever to go through the typical actions I would fly through in LR. focalpointsphoto.com

Yeah that was the first thing I noticed since the Loxia 21 was the first lens I used. The EVF is much brighter, sharper, refreshes faster, and is more stable when zoomed in...all of that really improved manual focussing. focalpointsphoto.com

C1 is very fast, but you have to arrange it for your workflow. 11 made a big change and I'm flustered using it, however, I simply move around the UI to my workflow. Only thing that's sluggish is the renaming of folders. If you set up your panel to have all your editing stuff, it should be very fast. Only thing that's sluggish is the renaming of folders. If you set up your panel to have all your editing stuff, it should be very fast. for instance, my home snapshots that I'm prepping prints for, I use the gear icon for the recipes, have one for small print that tags the date on the bottom right. I have the recipe's, process, white balance, exposure, high dynamic range, and library. That's all I touch for snaphots. The up arrow on the top right is to copy all settings, select all in the series, and then down arrow to apply the setting, then export. In that sense, it's ultra fast. if you're jumping top tabs from color to lens to exposure to details, it's too slow for my liking. I simply use exposure, and add all the controls I want in there. so this is what I mean, if you look at the exposure tab, it certainly does NOT look like my attached file, but that's how I arranged it, to my liking. If you use a lot of presets, you can certainly add it to this area. I dont use presets too often, however I do copy settings often, and may be adding it to this panel, so I dont have to navigate other panels. I also need to spend some time and program the shortkeys. focalpointsphoto.com

But a big issue for me is how sluggish the catalog tools are...importing, moving files, etc etc. I'm working off of a USB SSD and it takes so long to move stuff around. yeah, moving the catalog is really slow, but actual editing should be MUCH faster. Doing 100% view's with the magnifyer.... so awesome. Scroll to zoom in/out... amazing. Straightening while zoomed in, 4 point vertical straighten like dxo... awesome. For me, I think I’ll wait for the next version with the upgraded sensor. --------------- Here are some recent sample shots to document renovation of this North Alamo Building which was once the historic Alden Hotel from 1890 in SATX. This is a four story brick and masonry building. I don't know the full details on how the building will be used but I think the new owner will live on the fourth floor with retail or office space down below. Basic LR edits on these and captured with the FE 16-35 GM. I'll link from Flickr tonight since these two below don't look that great served through the site. Here is the link to the rest of the gallery if anyone is interested. My background is in concrete structures beginning with prestressed concrete bridge foundation piling for freeway overpasses for example. The major projects I worked on was construction of the concrete tunnel liners for the Hollywood Metrorail subway system, and the Metropolitan Water District's Diamond Valley Reservoir Project near where I live today.
