It’s freaking snowing in San Antonio!

Dude just woke up and there is snow everywhere.

I know you guys in other parts of the world think we're nuts for celebrating, but it happens once every 10 years here.

I consider this a failed attempt, but decided to give focus stacking a try since the OOF lights look best at F2, but want all of the camera in focus and it wasn't happening with a single exposure. There's some weird blooming and color shifts on the camera. I think because I was using TTL and bounce flash...lazy way of lighting. If you focus stack, you definitely consistent light between shots.

Also the bokeh has weird rings around it. The individual shots don't look like that...its probably because the lights twinkle. Next time I'll can take a single image for the OOF areas and impose the focus stacked camera on top of it.

I'll give it another try with a gridded stripped box in manual later.

Neat!! Snow is one of those things I miss a lot in moving South from KC. We had a couple of snowflakes in the forecast, but the forecast changed and it’s been nothing but a constant cold drizzle here so far.

Been a crazy weather pattern this week in the US.

Looks like a really nice failure to me. ;) Only thing that sticks out to me is the lenscap used to prop up the lens (wish it could be hidden from the view).

Also that is a nice looking strap and clips, would you share who makes that?

Ah yeah I needed to use a cap to level the lens since the half case makes the camera a bit taller.

Strap is the peak design leash. I know you disliked the slide...I do too...too bulky, but I use it when I'm carrying heavy set-ups. The leash is really lightweight and minimalistic. It'll tear into your shoulder if you put anything too heavy on, but I think you'd like it with your lightweight batis kit!

Yep the R3 looks like the perfect do-everything body and when I looked at that album
the 24-105 looks the perfect do-everything lens. I just packed mine.

Yeah, I hate the slide (reminds me of something I need to sell!). But are those peak clips? I use the unattractive little disc thingies from peak and I’d like to find better looking clips.

The thing I dislike most about Peak’s strap designs is they’re a constant width. I prefer a strap that narrows at the camera, but widens at the shoulder. It’s just a lot more comfortable at both ends. Nonetheless, the aesthetic of the leash is pleasing to they eye.

Yeah Carlo the snow was awesome. Our son was amazed by it. I took some photos that I'll share later.

When I did my PBR on my BAR shot, I had everything in manual mode so there wouldn't be any variation other than aperature opening from exposure to exposure. For the background, I used a single shot at the fastest f-stop and masked it in with the bottle shot at an f-stop with more DOF.

Plenty wide enough if you stitch and the 1.8 is astro dream aperture.
Me, after long thought I've decided to add Laowa 15mm F2 for my wide field. Wide enough, fast enough, will take my didium glass filter and sharp star on the filter holder I have
for the Batis 18 and it's SMALL. Don't need it until April though. No core until then.
