Thanks!
It seems like LR updates almost weekly now...whenever LR starts to run like crap, or crash all the time...I know its an update issue...update it...problem solved!
Beautiful shot Travis.
Thank you sir.

The camera’s histogram is based on the jpeg thumbnail, not the raw file, so he sets his creative style’s contrast setting to -3, so the blinkies don’t start too prematurely. I’m going to give it a try. This is great David. I have used that creative style tip before but will be adjusting my setting to match Mark’s. - Alfredo -

Dec 12, 2017 09:35 | #8767 How many of you are using back button focus for daily use? Not talking about when shooting moving people or anything like that. I mean for just day to day shooting?

I mean for just day to day shooting? I used it for a while, near a decade with canon and sony combined, however this year, I tried something different and gave the sony way a chance: Shutter button AF + focus hold. Seems to be ok. I like that I can just pass the cam to my wife for a snap again. When I want to quickly disable AF, I hold the focus hold button instead of using BBAF, same effect, different approach. My camera is more conventional now, not bad. Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

For me personally I just preferred the focus being on the back button on my canon bodies and then using the shutter button solely for the shutter. Not sure why but I just got used to shooting that way. Then I switched to Sony and couldn’t work out how to make it work the same so gave up and now I’m used to acquiring focus on a half press and the shutter on a full press. I believe the a7riii now has an af-on rear button so I imagine a canon type setup is now easier? . If I ever get that body I’ll likely give it a try Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

I see you guys aren't using it anymore. What is the advantage to using the standard way of setting focus on Sony as compared to Canon? largely because of eye af and the convenience of being able to hand my camera to anyone for a shot was way more useful than decoupling af from metering which was not really a daily requirement for me. I did use BBF almost exclusively on my canon once I learned about it.
