Nice place you have David. ;-)a

Not my place. :) The neighbor asked me to photograph his house inside and out. He needs prints, so I have to decide where to outsource the prints. His house was built in 1872 and it feels like a museum inside; don't know how they actually live in it.

Unfortunately one of my wife’s younger sisters lost her battle with cancer over the Thanksgiving Holidays. While there, and driving to another relative’s home, I stopped on the roadside and snapped this with my old Sony RX10 ver.1.

Sorry for your loss. We lost my mother in law to pancreatic cancer about 2 weeks ago. Tough times.

Either Bay Photo or White House Custom Color...that is who I have used with success, White Wall is good too.

I agree with you on Bay Photo and White Wall. I've used both with excellent results. I have several acrylics from White Wall. I like the thin wraps from Bay Photo.

School Christmas concert this year was much easier to shoot with the a99ii as opposed to the a7r last year.

The eye focus did a nice job in challenging lighting, even if the metering was off quite a bit as I didn't want to use flash and distract the kids.

If I wanted to ditch Adobe, I'd go with C1. But I don't. I get plenty of value out of my Adobe CC subscription.

That said, DXO PL is outstanding as a supplement to my LR and PS licenses...very very pleased with it.

_______________

The CV 15mm is not a big difference from the CV 12mm (FOV), but I think my sensitivity to framing is greater at wider focal lengths, so I am reasonably happy with the addition...

Not knowing any better here is my work flow-
Read the raws with DXO Photolab/Prime denoise if needed/Smart lighting if needed-
Ship tiff to LR--export to desktop unless the clone stamp is needed-
Ship to PScc for tweaking.

I'd not used DXO for a while but now remember that I liked it before but even on a big
machine the Prime DN is slow......I'm in now rush though.

Eriet I don't use the FE100400GM OEM hood (though I have a digital camo LensCoat for it), I purchased a collapsible
rubber hood that works a charm for me, takes up less room in the pelican or Everyday Backpack, instanly deployable too.

72mm thread? wouldnt it be 77?

I wonder if I can just send my hood back to sony and not the whole lens..... the ribbed area on the inside is separated out from the ring.

Yes 77mm, my bad. Sorry Eriet :)

Here's a shot via the Chinese 25mm F1.8 --Chinabay-- that arrived today. $64.
Yep a cropper but 18mpx is plenty to goof off with.
Manual focus of course with yellow focus peaking on the word 'Syrp'.

Yeah it was rough. Pancreatic cancer is particularly bad....same cancer Steve Jobs and Patrick Swayze had. We're relieved that she isn't suffering any more.

When you have been a rabbit for as long as I have, you will learn you can have high end music on a beer budget .. :-)

Before the internet there was an underground newsletter that mostly dealers new about that sold trades in's of high end equipment . Those rabbits chasing the holy grail of sound would trade in, and then buy the latest and greatest.

Hehe yes. There are HUGE diminishing returns as you start spending more money on audio....much more so than photography. The sad thing about audio is that its sort of a sad thing that you enjoy alone as very few people can really appreciate it. Very different from photography, which is something inherently shared

I'm sure this is grounds to revoke my audiophile card, but this is my audio gear of choice these days. I still have my B&W P7's and fiio amp that I use at work, but these Jaybird's sound pretty good and are so cool and convenient.
