I hope you don't mind the feedback, but this is a gorgeous shot. I just wish the verticals were corrected.

Is this better?

I completely understand. I made quite a bit of correction to the verticals, I guess I need to take it further.

Personally I like what you did on the verticals, even though I confess being a vert-n@zi for many architectural images. 100% correction is a must for professional architectural photography, but leaving a touch of convergence lends some height drama. For your image I could go either way, so didn’t comment on it.

Edit: I just discovered that n_azi is a censored word here on POTN. It’s potentially inflammatory, so I’m good with the censorship and will avoid it in future posts. My use of it in this post was an homage to the “Soup N___” from the Seinfeld episode. :)

Tests out smooth reflections for the first time tonight. Processed it and copied the processing to the normal shot of the same scene. Really starting to love this camera even more!

Edit: This was 128 shots. I was low on time to get home and let the baby sitter go home.

My wife got rid of her facebook and I'm tempted to do the same. When I think about it, the interactions that I observe on it are very often negative, and that negativity spills out of the digital realm and into the real one too. I find that I don't engage in it as much as I used to because of that. The interactions on there carry such heavy implications that it just flat out isn't fun anymore. It's very different now than from the early days of facebook where it was more light hearted and truly about connecting with people.

Most of my interactions on FB are centered around my photography and that of others that are like minded, occasionally its about my work travels but 99% is positive by design, i wont pay attention to negative, and unfollow those that post too much antagonistic or divisive crap. I can honestly say that my FB feed is positive and great interaction with good folks. I resisted even having an account until january 2016.

Who wants the new CV 35mm 1.4? I have become such a 35mm nut that I wish I could collect (most of) all the available and upcoming native e-mount 35mm lenses. Eager to see how the new CV renders. Not giving up my FE 35mm or Loxia 35mm, but if the CV brings something interesting to the table I might be tempted.

I need help. :p

I think I'm set on selling the rx1rii as I haven't really been using it lately. I like the FE 35 1.4, but it is a big lens and not so fun to bring around casually. I still have the FE 35 f2.8, but its too slow.

I really want a goldilocks middle of the road 35mm...not too big, not too slow. Preferably with AF, but I think I could be ok with MF too. I've thought of the Loxia 35, but the CV 35 1.4 looks good too! I'm not too concerned about max resolution wide open since I'd want this for more casual stuff.

First image is the Sigma 135 wide open....second is the 85 GM wide open in crop mode

The ability to map crop mode to a button on the a7rIII makes this type of comparison more valid. The FOV is really close. Interestingly enough, it seems that the 85GM has a 1 stop t value advantage over the adapted Sigma 135, so the noise difference is null between the two. It's mainly just a resolution difference....that and the 85GM has better AF

We need a Batis 35mm 1.8 or 2! My Loxia is decent, but not great at f/2, a Batis would be excellent wide open.
Also, the CV 35mm 1.4 probably won’t be amazing at f/1.4, which is why I wish they would port their excellent Ultron 35mm 1.7.

The CV 35 1.4 has outright bad bokeh, and I think the E version will have that problem. I saw a bit of it on the sample photo of the clock.

Ultron is great but a native version is needed.
