So i am tired of the OEM Sony strap that comes with the camera and am thinking i would prefer a small one that just goes around your hand. Are any of you guys using something like that, that you like?

I'm with Charlie in that I just use a paracord wrist strap that I made for about 25 cents.

you dont need a cinch IMO. Your natural hand formation will allow you to catch the strap, should the camera slip. If you must have a cinch, I made previous versions with a piece of plastic that could cinch up the whole thing, but I found that to be overkill. Simply size is right and it's very secure. This setup is especially useful with seascapes, I typically have the strap around my hand the whole time in case my tripod takes a spill. To feed the paracord through the eyelet, use floss.

to get an idea on the size of the opening of the final size, it needs to fit you hand snug before you insert. This is so that when you squeeze your hand to insert, there's no resistance, it's easy to get in, but when you are in shooting position, it's wide enough that the camera cant escape. Once you have it fitted well, you will know the security it provides, it's not falling off.

while the opening of mine is a mere 6.5" total, you need quite a bit more string to make that diamond at the end. It's a really neat looking knot and it's not loosening ever.

No such luck Robert. :-( It shipped via UPS this morning and there is no delivery date posted yet. Since it was shipped "1 Day Saver", I'm guessing it should arrive on Dec 26th. Once UPS updates their page and I can see when the delivery date will actually be, I'll post that info.

I had never even heard of a diamond knot till you showed your strap. I’m excited about making my own strap now!

I use it on my attic rope too, it looks real nice and easier to yank on than a regular chord with regular knot at the end.

anyone trying these straps, I urge you to use a proper diamond knot, it's not only pretty, but secure. impossible to unravel. when fitted proper, burn the end very slightly so it doesnt fray. Paracord should melt. It's a bit tough to get through the eyelet, so use dental floss to yank it through.

best if you make it a tad long, as it can be shortened at the eyelet side easily and quickly via twist and loop, but too short, you'll have to start over. The total opening being 7" should fit most hands unless you're like some sort of giant :-P

once looped through, the opening should be 6"

half twist and loop, 5.5"

full twist and loop, 5"

this should be able to accommodate from a large male hand to a small ladies hand.

So I just used Greentoe for a purchase. Bought a softbox. Got it for $25 less. Real easy transaction and saved a few bucks! I'll use their service next time I go looking for something.

I love the Shoot and Sell app for tablets to do IPS(In Person sales). you can present your images on a wall. even to the client's wall. Here's one that I presented to the mom and yes she'll order the 3.

The living room I used here comes with the app, you can buy more room and like I said you can take a snap on the client's wall and help them visualized.
