i tested my Lumu Power Light Meter again and it's really cool. I can control the ambient and subject exposure by looking at the flash contribution. The overall exposure is 100%, if the flash contribution is like 40%, that means 60% of the exposure is contributed by the ambient light. that will give you a brighter ambient. If you want to make the ambient or background darker, just crank up your strobe and make a reading. If the resulting flash contribution is let's say 60%, vice versa it means the ambient is only 40% which makes the ambient more darker.

e.g.... the second image is what the lumu power light meter app looks like in flash mode.

My conclusion is to use the light meter whenever possible but still be mindful of the histogram as it still mess you up if the strobe don't have enough power.

So I finally got out for a bit with the A7R3. It was a bright day. I wear glasses, progressive lenses for reading and distance. I was basically unable to view through the EVF. I had to use the rear screen to compose pics. What’s up with that? Is it that there is no large rubber eyepiece?

I’ve yet to download the pics, but one thing I noticed right away was the DR. It held the bright sky and detail in whatever I was shooting. My firmer Canon and Nikon bodies would always blow out the sky or render the foreground very dark. That’s a huge step up.

how the hell does does smoke glow that bright. You can see the object flying away in the first image, second, you can see the smoke it left behind, it was glowing really bright.

I saw videos of that Charlie. The crazy thing is how stationary it looks...it doesn't look like a rocket, which would presumably be moving very quickly across the sky.

it moved like a plane at high elevation, but the smoke it left was gigantic like very low elevation

cell phone shot from FB local, in relation to the electric lines, it's either real close or really massive. It just kind of floated away, and the leftover smoke was unreal, it just sat around glowing like a floating lightbulb, it was so bright.

The smoke glows that bright Charlie because it's high enough to be lit by the setting sun. Years ago, I used to see rocket trails like that whenever they launched a missile at Vandenburg AFB near Lompoc, CA. I lived in Bell Gardens at the time.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launched Iridium-4 mission, 10 satellites to low- Earth orbit for Iridium, from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The Youtube description says the launch was 12/23/2017 but they meant 12/22.

I love the Shoot and Sell app for tablets to do IPS(In Person sales). you can present your images on a wall. even to the client's wall. Here's one that I presented to the mom and yes she'll order the 3.

The living room I used here comes with the app, you can buy more room and like I said you can take a snap on the client's wall and help them visualized.

you wore your glasses while trying to look?

ive always get my glasses out to look through the evf and even ovf since i have a hard time looking through with it on.
