I am happy that my favorite gear reviewer, Dustin Abott, is buying an a7R III and will be doing a lot more Sony reviews in the future. This is great! Subscribe to his channel if you haven’t already.

Here is the latest from his ongoing a7R III reviews. This is not a complete review; he always takes several videos to review gear. That level of thoroughness and thoughtfulness is probably why I appreciate his reviews more than others.

Pretty boss Vinz, beautiful smile....does she appreciate the killer bokeh you cooked up
for her?

Thank you. yah she likes the bokeh but for me after seeing that, I wish i stop down my aperture though to understand what's in the background. it's San Francisco Cityscape.

Love his reviews too. Big fan and am so happy he is getting into the Sony system.

A few test images from the Zeiss 35 f2 ZE. I think these were all at f2. Very nice transition to out of focus areas.

Still coming to terms with the Riii. I think it is a solid camera. Like with the Rii + 70-300G it is a lightweight bird/bif/wildlife machine. I can
already see I can do things with it I cannot do with the a9 but likewise the a9 can do things the Riii could only dream of. They make a great pair....but
the apps :(
Poof is now official owner of the Rii.

the detail is awesome...that is one thing the a9 lacks...it doesn't have the fine textures that the r2 does.

I had a mess around tonight with smooth reflections and panoramic shots. I used both the Zeiss Batis 18mm and Zeiss FE35mm.
8 shots each pano of 16 SR shots.
Last one is a single 16 shot SR that I like the reflections in the water.

Will definately be trying the SR app for my astro foregrounds this season. Only a couple of weeks to wait :)

my experience with panos and SR has not been good, each frame has been slightly different for exposure, and was requiring more post work to try to balance the frames, I had better luck shooting standard exposures with filters and merging those.

I hope no one minds me posting this here as well as the 52 week thread...

The snapshot is of my dad taken around 1921 in his Boy Scout uniform on the ranch in Compton, Ca. and the camera is what took that photograph. The Kodak Autographic No. 2-A folding Brownie has a port seen at the top back that can open so the negative can be scribed using the attached stylus. That's how the words "Be Prepared" were written on the image in reverse.

Thanks. The phone really isn't old, just a replica and why I wanted it out of focus. :-)

Here's an advertisement for a similar camera from 1915 found at Duke University's Digital Repository. They sure don't make them like they used to. ;-)a
