Eddie, this is for you:

Even after spending $6K, this guy still found Lightroom to be slow. What's interesting is that Adobe’s Tom Hogarty reached out and offered to let the guy try out some Lightroom improvements that are still “in the works”. Sheesh!

Worrying as he used the same cpu as I was planning. I might hold off to see what the LR improvements are first.

I don’t actually find LR slow on my 2014 macbook it’s only when I stitch panos it slows down a bit. I was just hoping the pc build would improve that part of it. I also want dual screens. Wouldn’t want to do all that though and take a performance hit

Finally got a chance to view this. It would be nice if Dustin would do a comparison after using a custom profile via colorchecker passport. Anyway, I’ve always loved colors from both systems...they each have a unique look. :)

on his skintone comparison, the sony shot was underexposed. Sony's shutterspeed was 1/500 while the Canon is 1/200. Both on F2 ISO100

Before heading out today to try to get my “blues” capture I had to wet clean my a7R II sensor for the first time since I bought the camera in 09/2015.

As dust-prone as mirrorless sensors are, they’re even more easy to maintain and keep clean in my experience. It was necessary to wet clean my DSLRs regularly - every few months - and doing it was a pain. The a7x sensor is a breeze to clean.

I had a different experience. I never once cleaned my dslr. but I had to do it on my a7s and the first time was very nerve wracking.

FYI, eclipse was not effective for me. I used visible dust smear away and it was more effective.

In Iceland (land of WIND) I'd clean the A7Rii sensor at least daily, occasionally more than once and I
mean wet cleaning.

I don't know if we will see a significantly faster Lightroom Classic (hate that name) version. It appears that Adobe is more committed to Lightroom CC.

Yep agree. Whenever I'm adding local adjustments such as the radial or gradient filter and especially the brush adjustments, Lightroom crawls. Culling has improved a little but it could be faster.

Nice build. Yeah these large 42MP files are tough for Lightroom to handle.

I don't have issues with LR Classic being slow, I use radial, gradient and brush adjustments all the time...my only real issue with LR is opening the program to start with...it.often crashes on startup. But once running it does fine.

I started out by trying the new "Select Subject" feature in PS CC. That worked pretty well and with a few corrections, made a decent selection of my neighbor. Then I thought I'd find an interesting background. The background I found didn't match the color tone of the original so I tried using "match color" to match the bg color tones. Of course, then I had to select the grill and add it too.

EDIT: A second version added...

Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel is one of the ten wonders of the world so they say. Been on it several times, once there was so much fog you could not see to the left or right of the highway. Kinda scary knowing big ships use that waterway, as depicted in your shot. Trucks are another hazard on it.

I use to ferry big yachts back and forth from northeast to south Florida, and seen the Chesapeake nastier than the ocean.

I'm about to order the NiSi night filter after seeing a shot of the Hong Kong skyline at night from Bastian K. Anyone use this night filter? I know that Lonely Speck has their own but I think I'll go with the NiSi.
