Jan 29, 2018 20:15 | #11117 David Arbogast wrote in post #18552061 Thanks Alfredo! I pick my 35mm based on my primary interest at the moment. Whenever I want to shoot wide open, like the Aquarium image, I run with the FE 35mm 1.4 ZA. For the gas station/super market I was initially shooting the gas pumps @ f/1.4, so I had the lens already mounted for that reason. However if I am being more deliberate about a stopped-down architecture/landscape shot then I always go with the Loxia. Awesome lenses both (for me). That’s great. I would love own both the FE 35 f1.4 and Loxia 35. Each one excels at different things and make an awesome pair. - Alfredo -

I missed out on another mint lens from Fred Maranda. This time it was his Voightlander Ultron 35 f1.7 with PCX and adapter. It was all setup ready for use. I also missed out on his mint copy of the Loxia 35 several months ago. - Alfredo -

Edit: I realize I have been going kind of nuts over 35 mm lenses but it’s a gap in my lineup. And there isn’t a perfect 35 mm lens for Sony E mount yet. The Ultron 35 would have been a great choice for shooting wide open and stopped down. if the sigma is good and small enough, I'de sell mine. Otherwise, I'm comfortable playing the waiting game. My particular bag wont fit anything much larger than the FE 85, so I've limited myself from getting anything bigger. You can't see it at this resolution, but in the distance of that image there is a cool mirage, I grabbed a shot of it with the 70-200 and then cropped in to 1100x1100 to get a better view of it.
