Thanks...... I am really bad about the setting px thing...... On the original maybe i was capturing negative space in an artsy way?....

ACK.... now I see the dust spots too I need to watch for that

To the bolded, this was my first thought. I really like the original!

Thanks .. i appreciate the feedback..

i like to think that i have improved .. but i still need to work on a lot of things..

mostly slowing down and paying attention to details .. I've got a handful of great shots .. but i have plenty of "coulda been great but.."
and most are due to moving too fast and not looking at the entire frame. .
odd crops .. not paying attention to details.. shirt bunched in a weird way , beautiful pose but for some reason i cut off one hand..

with lighting i think i got enough to get by.. don't get me wrong i still have a lot to learn , but for now i got a decent understanding for 2 lights.
so for the next session my goal is to really slow it down and look at the detail.. better to walk away with only 25 clicks and all solid photos

Beautiful park beautifully captured. I've been to Zion several times=never gets old, thanks for the reminder to get back there.

Slowing down is really one of the key. My wedding mentor’s (jerry ghiones) advises to always slow down. I’m guilty of not slowing down too.

You wanna slow down use a tripod. Checkout Joel Grimes. He always use tripod everywhere. Sure it slows you down but it’s a good thing.

A macro shot of seeds and peppers my neighbor has collected for his garden.

As you may recall, I didn't care for the fit of the cheap "L" bracket and decided on the Kirk bracket instead. It works and fits well. To solve the battery door issue, the Kirk plate is short on the bottom and there is a slot for connecting a strap. That way the camera can hang straight down with one strap end connected high and the other low.

Anyone own the 24-70 GM? I’ve been finding myself looking at it more and more even though it goes against everything I switched to Sony for

the weight and size is bad

i can easily have my old setup on me in one bag (a7r1, 24-70 f4, 35 2.8, 55 1.8) while with the a7r3 and 24-70 2.8 alone on my shoulder would get uncomfortable. id also have to take my bigger bag with thick shoulder padding to ease out.

for now, i will suck up the cons for the 2.8 zoom.

other thoughts I have for vacations would be 24-70 f4 because I would want the background more in focus which means 2.8 is not needed. ill have the 55 1.8 for portraits.

i always told myself that if i get a big lens I will settle for a dslr for better handling. seeing how sony improved on af kind of scratch that thought out of my mind and just stick to one system.
