Darn, that is such a great deal! I’m just not sure I’m ready to commit to a buy-a-new-camera notion that just popped into my head a few hours ago.

Still, I do think the a9 would be an absolute amazeballs for capturing street moments...and doing so silently. If it’s still available tomorrow I might jump on it.

For 3500, you should be able to get a new USA authorized with return policy from greentoe , think that was the going price.

Having a little fun dreaming about a new camera tonight. I know this will surprise, but the camera I'm contemplating is not the a7R III (though that would be awesome too!), but actually dreaming of an a9.

The idea is having a camera dedicated to street/walk-around shooting, leaving the a7R II as my dedicated landscape/cityscape/ar​chitecture camera.

This has crossed my mind many times too but the thing that would frustrate me is the different batteries and therefore the requirement to take two chargers on trips.

Ok, that’s really good to know...I thouht the greentoe price would be 4000...if it’s close to 3500, then I can take my time deciding.

Taking my a7riii to Montreal for a few days... anyone have suggestions for photo ops?
Leaning more towards architectural / cityscapes vs. nature due to time constraints.
Unless the nature is in the city ie, botanical garden.

I've tried $3500 with greentoe, but the lowest counter offer they gave me was $3899. This was just last week, so maybe it'll be different now.

sorry to hear, it was reported on GT around Christmas time/ new years with that price and it can certainly change.

Yes Greentoe worked for me but I had to be a bit patient. I'll def. use them again.

OK this morning was not fit for man or beast. So cold I put the camera+lens outside to acclimate for a hour
before shooting.....so cold when I was done I put the camera+lens in a plastic zip loc with silica gel before
bringing back in----a joy you'll never enjoy Gene
Chose a slow shutter not only for the crap light/ISO but trying to get the snow streaking, instead got an expression
representing the weather well I think.

Also, first time using the a6500 with the 100400GM
