Yes Greentoe worked for me but I had to be a bit patient. I'll def. use them again.

OK this morning was not fit for man or beast. So cold I put the camera+lens outside to acclimate for a hour
before shooting.....so cold when I was done I put the camera+lens in a plastic zip loc with silica gel before
bringing back in----a joy you'll never enjoy Gene ;)
Chose a slow shutter not only for the crap light/ISO but trying to get the snow streaking, instead got an expression
representing the weather well I think.

Also, first time using the a6500 with the 100400GM

Excellent job conveying a sense of windy, cold, snowy, weather MM. That Jay definitely doesn't look happy to be out in it either. I'm a bit surprised that this was your first time using the a6500 + 100-400GM combo. I think AF tracking works well with it, certainly much better than when I had the a6300.

Here? The forecast calls for warm dry weather with a high of 84° ;-)a

GM ordered, 24-70 this time. Going to give it a try as a single lens solution. Variability seems to be better than the 16-35 according to lens rentals Roger so hopefully I have better luck this time. Although big and bulky it’s weight is less than the 3 primes I usually carry in a shoulder bag.

Hi Eddie

After years of moving away from Zooms I'm slowly starting to add zooms again. This came in today:-). Need to spend some time this weekend testing it out.

Joe

You can get one of them used for around $600... not too bad, right?

Another beauty Gene! Mind a knock on the door and access to your hummer field? I can bring fresh
meat for the grill.

Post some fun this morning with the a6500 I again braved the outer world---it has warmed up to 26F but
I still wore my ear muffs.
This time enjoying the a6500+1.4TC+100400GM. This shot at a 35mm effective 840 which reminds that I was grossly
amiss for not remembering I had the 6500 with me at Conowingo for the eagles (and if you recall I for got I had the filter
Travis sold me while at the Grand Tetons, there is a growing pattern here :(

Nothing flying here I can test BIF on but point to point AF (good light this afternoon) is very snappy. Best/fastest I could swing
the lens on target was shoulder before he flew so the eye is not quite what I'd prefer-

Last experiment of the day (my fingers are frozen)
a6500 + 2.0TC + FE100400GM
1200mm effective.
This bierd was way way off in the distance.
Now imagine my surprise to discover the a6500 has AF-C with the 2.0 and 100400.
Imagine my surprise to discover that in zone ALL auto-focus points are active with green
dancing squares (shame nothing moving to test on).
Only disappointment is the color/contrast which I can only minimally impact in post.
Still I didn't think the a6500 could AF with the 2.0TC ????
