A Blue Jay visited my neighbor's yard this afternoon. I had the iso set to 'faster' auto iso but it still cleaned up pretty well I think.

well i thought i decided on the fe 35 1.4 and fe 85 1.8

but then i thought what about the sigma 35 1.4..

did some weight and size comparisons..

and then i noticed the fe 35 has an aperture ring ON the lens..:love:

the 85 1.8 of course doesn't have it.. BUUUUT... the 85 1.4 gm does !!

:cry::cry:

i thought it was an easy choice between the 2 85's .. but now how much is an aperture ring worth to me?

I LOVE lenses with aperture rings on them

I like lenses with aperture rings as well :-D. I just recently sold my Canon 85 L 1.2 and purchased the 85 GM it really is a great lens, very happy with that decision.

Batis 135mm on sale for $1499 right now at bh and ad0r@m@.

Get even lower via Greentoe.

Get yours or be a loser. :p

That's a great price, they've dropped here in Canada aswell by $640 :-). For someone looking for a very high performance 135 that balances size/weight and light gathering ability well the Batis is a no brainer. I purchased the Sigma 135 f1.8 after selling the Zeiss APO 135 f2 and I have been really happy with it even though it's a beast to carry.

Robert - you asked me about snow the other day and I said it was gone, well it came back with a vengeance today. Most of the country stuck at home and told not to travel tomorrow. In addition they have issues a red weather warning for the first time ever meaning “risk to life” https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk …-alert-risk-life-12102130 (external link)

They are calling it “the beast from the east” :lol:

My family sent some photos from Northern Portugal and it's a winter wonderland there aswell, everthing is at a standstill. Actually it was pretty sad to see the almond trees which are in full bloom right now just covered in ice, this year's crop is destroyed.

Ouch! We're due one too. Our biggest ever first weekend in April about 14 years ago. 2 feet in 1 hour.
Right now I'd take snow....32 of 40+ days of rain. Yeah we took a 12 day break from it in the Sunshine state but
now I'm back in it.....anyone got any cheese?

Congrats Travis. I have everything I need to qualify except a portfolio. I don't think my Flickr page of snapshots will cut it.

I'm probably in the same boat.
Shame with Rii, Riii, a9.

I forgot to mention, you can also de-click the aperture ring as well on the GM.

It's not my main landscape camera, but the convenience of having it handy makes the RX10 so fun to use. I stopped in the middle of the road and shot this out my drivers side window/

I'm think I'll remain a loser :)
And to answer your question.
There will be an a9R when there is a 1DXiii R.

So far I'm feeling good about my transition with one exception.
1DXii---->a9
5Dsr--->a7Rii--->a7Riii
7Dii----->a6500

I never disliked the a6500, really impressive in many ways, just the ergos of the Rs and the a9 have me
wanting.

Well I've been building in Sony land for a while now. My heart tells me time to get back to mFT building and it is just
as costly as Sony building.
