I'll buy that 28-75. It seems the perfect size for a standard 2.8 zoom. This is what Sony should of came out with to begin with. Smaller mirror less purpose lenses.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Sony GM version and the 24-105 f4. for me, it's 2.8 or bust. Not taking away from the 24-105, just had too much conflict with f4 and f2.8 zooms during canon days to know that f2.8 is the way for me. He he. I have a BIL / SIL combo who think eating acidic foods will make their bodies more acidic. So he will eat a meal of a slab of ribs and 2 cups of whipped cream, but avoid a tsp of vinegar. Obviously no idea how either buffered systems or kidneys work. But then, Tom Brady (Patriots QB) believes the same nonsense. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

The guy explains the reason why they went with 28mm instead of 24mm on the wide end. That's what kills it for me. One of the reason's I wanted to go to 35mm format (way back in 2007, and among other reasons) was that the 35mm format zooms were all 24-XX while the 1.6X format zooms were all 18-XX or 17XX. Long story short, I walked out with a new Gimbal (DS2, which can support more weight) and a rental of the 35LII. Definitely sharper than the Sony 35 1.4, but I'm not sold on the rendering. As we know, the rendering of the Sony is something special. The 35LII has a very neutral rendering from what I see. Not overly clinical like Sigma, but no magic to it either. Seems all the newer Canon lenses render like this. I prefer the older Canon rendering...i.e. 50L, 85L. ![]() ![]() how do you like gimbaling in general? I've been holding out for a bit and got myself a really cool arm to work as a stabilizer for now. Reason is that it's ultra small and doesnt require electric. Going to test it out before I go gimbal, really want to avoid gimbal route for as long as I can, as I'm not sure I want another gadget that's somewhat difficult to pack and bring around. I got this arm that supposedly pocket size, really cool looking, just hoping it lives up to expectations. A great way I’d use it is when I do an outing with just a single lens. BTW, if you get a chance, it would be wonderful to see some comparison shots showing the FE 35mm vs 35L II. Hehe it's definitely sharper than the Sony. Weather is nice this wknd and we're taking the kids to the rodeo so I'll get to really test this lens out. focalpointsphoto.com

I'm just such a 35mm nut that I had to try this lens. This thing AF's like a native lens on the mkiii, so it's worth considering. The 35LII + adapter is also the same size as the Sony.

Which adaptor are you using? I would also love to see the comparison mate!
