thanks, the buggy metabones reports the lens as an F1.7 as well, I'm lucky to own the worlds fastest autofocus 135

found one at FM to trade with my 2470GM for his FE35F1.4+$$$. Can't wait to be shooting the 35mm again. I used to own a Sigma Art 35 on my canon days.

I was thinking about it and the 13 just seemed a tad too big. I figured if I got the bigger one I would want to stuff it with too much gear since it could hold a 70-200. I'm looking for a quick carry for my a9, 24-70 GM and 1 prime. I do like that it will hold a tripod and water bottle. And it looks better padded than most other sling bags. Did you go with the grey or the orange? The orange looks nice but I'm a boring type of person and not sure I could pull off the orange piping.

I just got the plain one. I wanted the larger one for use on though hikes when I want to carry less stuff but still have stuff I need to fit.

I don't know if this will appeal to you but you can help mitigate the brightness of the leaves if you didn't use a cpl by adding a hue/saturation adjustment layer and set to 'luminosity' blend mode. Use the color picker and click on the brighter leaves to select its color and then move the 'lightness' slider to the left to darken. You can mask out areas you don't want affected like his shirt in this case. (I also darkened his hair a little using another layer on 'softlight' blend mode and painting over his hair with black at 20% opacity)

Here's a quick example.

Well, I don't have PS...LR only kinda guy. But, after I posted the shot and David made the initial comment I thought to myself that I should take it back to LR and try and give it a little more pop. I like your effort!

A very slight improvement. Can't replicate a CPL glare reduction in post.

Yeah, I just need to stop being so lazy and slap the CPL on from time to time, i.e. water and green foliage.

Here's a 60 second revisit back through LR. Painted on a layer of increased saturation and pulled the highlights down all the way. Also burned the hair. Still no substitution to using a CPL but I think it is a littleness flat, little more pop.

Speaking of LR, as an aside, I've become an addict with the radial filter lately. I like to start with lowering my overall global exposure and then use a bunch of radial filters - each with slight exposure bumps to "dodge" and build up light where I want it. No different than standard dodging/burning in PS, but more fun imo.

Haha. Don't give away your secret. I do it too. It can definitely add mood to an image and direct the viewer's eye to where you want. Anthony Morganti has some excellent LR videos in case people are interested. Also Yuri on YouTube is very good.

Edit: Of course I'm kidding about the not sharing your techniques. This is an excellent group to learn from.

I'll second that regarding Anthony Morganti. For some reason, I find his voice very annoying. But what he uses it to say is very informative. He knows his stuff and can explain it clearly.

I use radial filters in ACR a lot too. I started when I was editing my hummingbird photos to emphasize the hummer and reduce the attention of the rest of the scene.

I even used the radial adjustment in that beer and bar shot I posted earlier.

Hah I do something similar with darken lighten center in Nik. You can place the center point wherever you want so I often place one or two 'brighten center' points around the areas I want the eyes to be drawn to....manipulate the size to blanket as little or as much as you want. For portraits it also helps separate the subject from the background. A very subtle touch goes a long way!

Speaking of Lightroom....I know I'm crazy but I've been using PS exclusively for PP. I'm starting to use LR so I can church stuff out faster, but when I export them to JPEG's they're really compressed....like 10mb from an a7rII file. I can save a tiff file without compression, but don't know how to save a JPEG.

when i resize for fb. i keep it at 300 dpi and 2400px on the long end. 100% quality.

That's largely an issue with Facebook. They compress your images. There are some workarounds such as applying extra sharpening and saving as PNG. I don't really use FB that much though.
