Ok for Gene and others. off topic if you don't mind guys, what's the best part of steak to grill?

ribeye is great but hanger steak and brisket if cooked well are actually GREAT for less cost too.

personally, i am not very picky - i love steak so ill eat them whatever cut hehehe.

ribeye is great...loads of flavor...and if you get it with the right marble it cooks a lot of the fat off and leaves you full of taste...but I tend to do a filet, marinated for a day, its nice and tender, and I like them medium...very tender and more lean. if it wasn't raining so much, I would have fired the grill up already...

That’s a fair point, looks like my a7rii won’t become an a7iii any time soon

to me that has been the thing that makes the biggest difference... leaving it to marinate over night..

even the not so fancy cuts will be very tasty... and the nicer cuts come out SUPER delicious

Thank you sir. No, not really big crops. The 'splash' took up 1/9 to 1/10 the frame. With you A7Riii you'll have cropability for fear of splatters but I've never gotten any splash adjutants
on the lens. Now the flashes have gotten the treatment but nothing that didn't easily wipe off=depending on what your splashing.

By the way, these last few splashes were all front lit. Milk will reflect light. Water won't. Water with food coloring won't reflect well, and water is prone to specular highlights.
Since your curious here is a shot using water and several super secret ingredients for elasticity and dilantantcy (think non-Newtonian fluids sheering). Years ago I had to master
thixotropic fluids too (picture compounding Maalox from scratch using attapulgite--also known as Palygorskite)...anyway (can you tell the bar just opened To light those splashes
we use back lighting....simply putting a flash (and I used the bigger Godox) behind the splash catch bowl/tray and in front of the flash something to disperse the flash...I used a cutting
board but an acrylic pane would do and further diffused with a sheet of construction paper colored to your liking.

The bubble at the base of the pedestal kinda ruins the shot but it still has some nice features.

I’m ok with Sony no longer supporting their ridiculous and painful-to-use app store.

I am not ok with Sony failing to implement important advanced functionalities like Smooth Reflections, Timelapse, Intervalometer, and bulb timer into their latest camera’s functions.

My mate who offered me to test the A7mkiii with him yesterday said they are considering via firmware updates bringing back the apps. He works at one of the bigger camera stores in Auckland and talks to the reps a bit. Not sure how true, but would be awesome if they did bring some of them back.

If you can smoke it for 12+ hours, brisket. National food of the republic of Texas...(Tex-mex is a close second)

I like getting pre-marinated skirt steak from Mexican meat markets out here. Throw that on the grill for a quick dinner. Cheap-cut of meat but crazy good.

Y'all are killing me right now with my diet.... I had bison meat and Quinoa for lunch.... Snap kitchen's not so convincing idea of a burger.

as i'm finding out there are 3 types .. Glass. clear. and anti glare.

ive gotten the clear one before.. for my xt2., that's worked out fine..i forget its there

for the a7r3 i got the anti glare.. its quite flat , and while yes it is anti glare , i feel the flatness is a bit of an annoyance at times as the sun will increase how flat it looks?(that's what it seems like).. i was thinking of removing it and replacing it

I've never tried the "glass" type..

i'm reading reviews on it .. mostly good .. and then read one that said if you break the glass its more likely to do damage vs putting a deep scratch into the plastic clear type

any thoughts on this?

Since cattle are so lean today, unfortunately, I'd have to say ribeye as well. If you can get a good USDA Choice cut of Porterhouse steak, that is very good too.

I'm almost always disappointed in the beef available nowadays because they are so lean. Much of the flavor is in the fat. I prefer to grill my steaks with the fat on and trim it off afterward.

Do you have Costco nearby and are you a member? If so, they usually have a good selection of USDA Choice and sometimes USDA Prime beef too.

I'll probably grill some chopped sirloin steaks later this afternoon.

Oh, If you can, try bone-in ribeye. That will really add to the flavor. I also like to grill Flank steak pierced with slices of garlic throughout too.

Wow! Fairplay. I couldn't do that myself for sure!

I'm the opposite way and lately have gone even further to the other extreme!! Heck, I've only got the one SD Card and I can't even tell you how many gb it is...... We went out for a snow walk on Sunday through some local woods..... Came back with 3 edited shots (to share) out of a total of 7 the remaining 4 are either just for personal or will be binned in the next few days when I go back to them......

Lee years ago I hung around two photographers...one really old sage. He told me 300 pics to hopefully get one good one (film days). So I just try to increase my odds!

I Made the mistake of getting anti glare before and hated it. It’s as if it reduces the resolution of the display. I’ve used clear on lots of cameras but actually have glass on my a7rii. Went on with no issue and still perfect a few years later

A7riii is here. Battery took me by surprise , it’s huge! Also the camera came with a brown leather “mr stone” half case that I thought I wasn’t going to use but I actually quite like it. Apart from that not had a chance to start setting it up yet
