The much needed rain continues to come down this evening. This is also why I stayed indoors shooting brandy today. :-)

I focused on the street light to be sure the rain was in focus.

Or add a seascape inside the glass...hmmm...;-)a

I think they make plastic ice cubes eh? But brandy is not served on ice ??
I was thinking maybe a little boat riding the brandy seas ;)

DT, yep control went ape, Phantom flew off into a mountainous distance.
Took another drone and did sweep fly overs and then came home and zoomed in
trying to locate. No luck.
I've since added another smaller drone....Spark...don't trust it either :)
Small sensor in the thing but sometimes it does ok. Who knows, maybe Sony
makes DJI's sensor for the Spark.

I stacked one image with my hand and one without it. After alignment, I used a 'hide-all' layer mask on the hand image to hide it then carefully unmasked the area inside the glass to just reveal the swirling liquid.

Love your flower in the water drops image Robert. The only thing I can think of to eliminate the room is to use a high enough f-stop so that the room is dark, to kill the ambient light, then light just the flower and branch with a flash. Without using a flash, you might be able to eliminate the room by using something dark to block the view of the room behind the flower.

Gene what is reflecting is actually behind the camera :)

DT yes. I have a personal articles policy where each camera, each lens, and the drone are each insured...expensive
for all of them; but if I go crazy and just stomp my A7Riii into the ground it is complete replacement at current market
value. So far I've never filed a clain on any camera kit/gear/lens. Cars/trucks not so much.

Oh! Maybe you can put something between the camera and the room behind it, turn lights off, shoot at night?

This thread is outa control!!! I go skiing for a few hours and come home to another 6 pages of posts to go though!

Spring skiing here in Boise. BTW, these were taken with a manual focus lens. Basically set the focal distance and hoped for the best. Neither were dead on but IMO totally usable.

They look great to me, and plenty sharp for web or small print, which is to say, I can't see that they aren't sharp from here. :-P

All this rain has inspired me to dig through my old shoots and try to find something new to edit.

This afternoon's experiment.
Twig, drops, forsythia.
I'm practicing for when the red-buds come out. I think the red will go well against black.

But look at the image and in the drops you can see reflections in the room which I don't want.
Set up was R3+FE90, the twig with drops about 4 inches away, then the forsythia branch another 3-4 inches away
then a black piece of plexiglass.

Clues on getting rid of the room reflection please

Did a number of these a few years ago, and used a fully darkened room, black clothes (including ski-mask), and just fired the flash directly at the subject. Light-spill into the room was not enough to register. An example:

Beautiful shots of the forsythia, by the way. Simply beautiful.

Gene I think that's it....I can suspend a partition behind camera...5 second release and get out of the way.

Rayfo thanks for more suggestions. A black ski mask! Yeah that outta do it!
Well I'm up to four of the little Godox flashes and one big one, but thought if I flashed
the drops I'd get highlights......maybe flash them from behind like we do in splash photography
dispersing the light through a cutting board.
I'll keep playing as time permits.
