Rayfo thanks for more suggestions. A black ski mask! Yeah that outta do it!
Well I'm up to four of the little Godox flashes and one big one, but thought if I flashed
the drops I'd get highlights......maybe flash them from behind like we do in splash photography
dispersing the light through a cutting board.
I'll keep playing as time permits.

You may laugh at the black ski-mask, MM, but I'll have you know that my wife always felt that I looked best covered in black in a fully blacked-out room!

Flashing the drops from behind will surely illuminate you and the room behind you, and exacerbate the reflections on the drops problem. No?

i own both systems.

Canon:
5d4
70-200 f2.8
24-70 2.8
sigma 35 1.4
85mm f1.2
tamron 90mm macro

Sony:
A9
A7r3
24-70 f2.8 gm
12-24 f4
100-400 gm
25mm batis f2
85mm batis f1.8
35mm f2.8 samyang

What do i use most?
Sony hands down.

Barely use my canon body but i use some of the lenses on my sony. The first two shots where using the sony 70-200. i see no reasy to buy the GM version as the canon perfoms amazing on the sony and the 85 f1.2 WOW my fav lens and actually performs better on my sony then on the canon!

Thanks Travis. I took a few shots while I twirled the glass gently. Because the glass is so small, it was hard to keep my hand from showing. Here's the one I composited into the final image. I fired the camera & flashes using my wireless remote.

Which wireless remote did you use to trigger camera and flashes?

All this rain has inspired me to dig through my old shoots and try to find something new to edit.

Your pictures are awesome and your editing technique has them looking even better.

I'm using the Sony Wireless Remote because of the top three buttons. I can fire the shutter immediately, shoot with a 2-second delay or start/stop video recording. I like having those controls at my fingertips. Here's a snapshot of mine from this morning and a link to the remote at B&H. I should have used a different angle to show those three buttons at the top better.

holy cow. nice collection of gears :P

what is your thought on 5d4+24-70 2.8 versus sony+24-70 2.8 ? weight and size.

also canon+70-200 and sony 100-400

ive told myself if i was going to get a 2.8 zoom i'll get a dslr because dslr would be more comfortable to use with the heavy lens. but i ended up sticking to sony to keep it one system. not sure if i made the right choice.

Well, it's IR rather than RF so it's only good for relatively short distances. It works better in darker spaces or when pointing it at the front of the camera when the lighting is bright, like in sunshine. I'm generally only a few feet away from the camera when I use it to primarily keep from touching the camera when I take an exposure while it's mounted on a tripod.

Thanks Gene for the info. I’ll look for an RF version. I’m thinking about adding myself into some of my landscape and cityscape shots.

You can still use your smartphone to remotely control your a7r3 with Sony's Smart Remote App. Here's a video explaining how to set it up. I use it to remotely video hummingbirds. I can be at my computer indoors and monitor my phone's screen while my camera/tripod is set up facing the feeder. When I see a hummer come into view on my phone, I can either take a photo or start recording video.
