Superb Cory

Thanks Eddie! It was a great trip. I think I have come to accept that while I love the hobby and tinkering with the gear I'm basically a family lifestyle photog. I just can't bring myself to put in the effort needed to get seriously into the landscape stuff. For example there was no way I was going out for any sunrise sessions while in southern Utah. The trip was simply packed full of other stuff.

Like a lot of this....

Here is my water drop setup for now. The trigger controls the valve and the master flash by cable and fires the camera via IR remote. This way, there is no lag and I've been able to get my timing right.

I suspended my a7r2 over the table on a "C" stand with the Laowa 15mm macro lens and I mounted the Air 1 Commander on it to control the flashes when I took this setup photo with my wireless remote. :-)

Really enjoying your very thorough water-drop work, Gene.

May I offer my small gallery of collisions to possibly anticipate what you are aiming for. It's a fascinating genre, that is especially rewarding during inclement weather or when we are required to spend more time indoors. If I can help in any way with your experiments, I shall be more than happy to do so.

When i go on trips I start with plans on sunrise and sunsets .. but then other fun gets in the way.
I did a sunrise timelapse once but only because we were going to bed so late it was almost time for the sun to come up.

Thanks very much for the comments and for sharing your collisions gallery. I really enjoyed looking through it and I do have lots of questions. I promise not to take advantage and overdo it with the questions though. :-)

I also enjoyed your other galleries as well.

So I got the RX10 IV as mentioned earlier in this thread... It is a BIF capturing machine! I've already gotten a few pretty interesting photos of raptors in here in PA, but nothing worthy of being posted in this thread yet... but its ability to shoot at 24 fps is also a lot of fun, enabling me to get this:

Hey Robert, my plan is to move back withing the next 5 years or so, Portugal is a great place to retire to, great weather, great food and depending on the area it's still unspoiled by excessive tourism, I'll be happy to have you guys visit after I move back. Here is a photo of the Douro gorge near my town, I'm planning a kayaking trip this summer down a good portion of this river.

Forget the bierds! Let's go landscaping.
Well we'll see if I'm still alive in 5 years. I'm hoping ;)
Portugal would be such a wonderful destination for many many reasons.
That is a wonderful landscape image and I bet there are tons more.

i'm sorry for posting a non-sony shot. I'm just amazed that this is possible in today's tech. Look at this sooc image from my Pana LX100 at ISO4000 ambient. and to think this camera was release November of 2014 and don't even have a single firmware update.

When I was still shooting with Canon 60D, i will not go more than ISO1600

Why was someone surprised to see feather details from the a9? It's not like it's an 8mp Dslr...

is it possible to adjust iso with the rear dial.. i only see the option of using it for shutter speed or aperture, or in manual mode it zooms in ?

trying to setup my Fuji and sony as similarly as possible so that i'm not fumbling with one after shooting with the other for a few days.

fuji doesn't have the rear rotating ring on body like sony does(which i use for iso on sony)
