I don't remember seeing any shots of birds when it was raining. It rained hard early this morning, but the birds have to eat anyway, so these cardinals showed up at the feeder out front. This was the daddy-bird and his offspring. Both were pretty soggy looking.

It can be tough to shoot birds in the rain, I've done it a few times myself.
Here's a Horned lark I shot in the rain on snow back in March of 2015. I used flash on this one too.

I don't have many but I think rain can add a lot to bird photographs and I love to see them and hope more participate in this thread.

I haven't been here in a long while, but this thread immediately reminded me of something:

Not only did the rain absolutely belt down but also the fog moved in at the same time. The Short Eared Owl seemed unfazed where as I was totally drenched and not prepared for it. I had concerns that my equipment was going to be ruined, thankfully it all dried out well.

If I remember well, taken the same day and in the same storm as the Cardinal I posted above.

Great idea for a thread. One from a few years ago.

It looks like not many venture out into the rain. Challenging and generally sub-optimal results but I still like the effect.
