Changing names while saving SEO?

My current URL is: iowalandscapephotograp​hy.com

I hate it. It is the name of the business, but for a URL it's too long and unwieldy. I took what I now consider bad advice and spelled everything out when I got started. However, it has a decent Google ranking. Not great, but decent.

I also own iowa-photo.com, which I like a lot better. I have that on my business cards and it redirects to the longer URL. I want to reverse the situation. I want the shorter name to be my primary name and the longer name to redirect, for anyone who might have it saved, or whatever.

Can I do this without sacrificing my SEO?

As long as you redirect (301) your current site/pages to your new site/pages, there shouldn't be a problem.
