I was looking to get the XPLOR600. Do you know anything about these. Someone was saying the Rovelight will not flash reliably.
I heard these go on sale around black friday? Anyone have any info on how to save money on this bad boy?

XPLOR600 is excellent.

Rovelight flashes reliably. It's just now dated because there's better options with ETTL and better communication systems and pulse HSS, etc. Superior 600Ws battery strobes hit the market finally and there's competition. The Rovelight was simply an affordable battery 600Ws with no frills and long burn HSS. The problem with flashing reliably had to do with the communication system; the original trigger was awful. It was replaced with a V2 trigger and that one is good. Those of us using third party triggers with pc sync have no issues with reliable firing. I use RF603 and YN622 and mine is bullet proof. Anecdotal evidence, but there you have it.

If you're shopping for a portable 600Ws with ETTL/HSS, take a look towards:

Flashpoint XPLOR600
Godox AD600
Jinbei HD610
Orlit 610

They all virtually are the same thing, one Godox and one Jinbei in the guts, rebranded. But they're all good, with ETTL and HSS, and good communication systems.

If I were buying new today, I'd get the XPLOR600/Godox AD600.

I currently shoot a Rovelight 600B, because I got it on sale, and it's been excellent. Still working flawless so I have no real reason to buy a new one just to gain ETTL.

But, having ETTL & HSS on a Strobe, is pretty awesome. So that's why I'd explore the newer options.

Don't expect a great deal on the XPLOR600, maybe $699 when it hits sale. $650 on a really good deal day?
You can find alternatives that are the same guts, the Godox AD600, Neweer rebrand of that, etc. There are lots of rebrands. the XPLOR is just a rebrand of Godox as it is. You could save money that way.
But, I personally wouldn't go for a $700 light that will have zero support after I buy it. So I try to stick to products supported by a brick & mortar here in States (Adorama, B&H, etc). Just preference.

Very best,

This looks like a good deal:

i.e. Interfit S1 500Ws HSS TTL

I looked at those but there's still no promised full Speedlite integration (specific receivers) etc. Which might explain the sale.

I agree that; 'Flashpoint XPLOR600 Godox AD600 Jinbei HD610 Orlit 610' is the benchmark group currently, with options available in Europe for the OP.
