I would love some critique on these. I don't do portraits very often!

Jun 17, 2017 19:41 | #5 I like what you have posted. I also think that you could choose a 2nd type of edit for a few of them that would raise the exposure by about 2 stops with a few radial and graduated filters for highlighting purposes in LR to produce a sort of blown out shot. I did a quick test of this approach on your 3rd image and it definitely works - sort of like retroactively exposing for the bride and using filters to keep some detail in the sky and foreground. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I should have warned everyone that this session was booked about two hours before the actual shoot took place, and I did not have my lights with me. Wow, talk about short notice!

golfecho (I will regret that) More info | Jul 11, 2017 14:14 | #12 Love the overall background light/exposure IF you could have used some off camera flash. Otherwise, could be brightened up some. In #1, I'm not sure about the cropping. Tighter crop on the flowers (so her head doesn't look chopped off)? How about some selective focus on the flowers throwing the rest into blur? Perhaps a darkening of the edges/corners?
