If this 6D II have 2 SD cards, I would buy 2 and replace my Canon 5D IV. AF & MPx is enough for weddings needs. Having 1 SD card for my clients is irresponsible. Maybe I can consider this as a second camera to my 5D IV once reviews are out.

I am interested in seeing how the reviews go on this camera. I am not a professional so I will not address issues that some people are having with the new specs. I would think for those that have major concerns and do not want to change systems the 5DIII, which would be about the same price, or the 5DIV would be the way to go. The IV is more expensive, but not as expensive as changing into a whole new system. I never expect Canon to blow the roof off with any new camera or upgrade. With that being said maybe one day they will surprise me!

If it makes no difference why cripple it?

Canon being Canon.

I am happy with the specs of the new 6D.

Most of the specifications are as aspected but some of them are a little better and some could be a little better...but in my opinion this is a nice balance. If they upgraded the sync speed to 250 or better and the max shutter to 1/8000 and included a second cardslot who would ever buy a 5DIV? Exactly... nobody.

I am sure I will buy one in the future. Maybe two.
While I never used a camera body with two cardslots, I also hoped it was included. But I accept and understand Canon's decision.

Who would buy a 6DII with a $100,- extra option for a second card slot?I would do that.

I am reall curious about the sensor quality. Hopefully it is a nice upgrade from the mark 1 in that regard as well. Even better DR and even better ISO... in combination with the 6 extra MP mmmn...

I never thought it should have a second card slot. To me that was reserved for the pro series camera.

But to have things gimped more than a rebel seems just stupid.
Even the 80D has a 1/8000 shutter. Again just stupid to cripple a $2000.00 + camera to the point where its worse then far lesser bodies.

YES I will most DEFINITELY get sharper images with my 135L at 1/250 vs 1/160. Also, If I'm using a strobe that has a longer flash duration, there is a chance to have motion blur on your subjects at 1/160. Think photographing a toddler during a family session. They're not sitting still. And I would definitely prefer using a higher SS if possible. In fact I miss my old 1D3 body's 1/300 sync speed.

Running HSS opens the door to other issues I'd prefer not to deal with if I don't have to.

I'm a 5DIV owner that is starting to think he should have waited for a 6DII haha. For the cost, this camera definitely looks fantastic! A good buy, I'm sure.

Fricken really canon? Even a damn rebel can sync at 200.

Crop cameras have smaller mirrors with less distance to travel.

Not that the difference between 1/180 and 1/200 can legitimately be seen as significant.

The shutter mechanism is different on the 6D so that the silent shutter mode is VERY silent. Can the make it in such a way that does both? Who knows, but it seems like they would have done that with the 5DIV if they could.

The other FF are 1/200, so the slower speed of the 6d is just a model differentiator.

How much difference does it really make? A relatively low sync speed will mean that HSS may be needed just a little more often than otherwise and using HSS entails some compromises. But is it really a big deal?
