Hello all-
I just joined up. I'm at my wit's end. I was doing some astrophotography a couple weeks ago and I stared getting that giant, non-blinking BUSY message on my LCD. I've been doing my research, and I can't come up with a reason for this message. Maybe somebody can help. Here's the facts, ma'am:
Full Manual mode.
Noise Reduction is OFF.
Single shots only, no bursts.
Almost brand new low-level formatted SanDisk 32gb Ultra class 10, 80mb/sec.
No Temp alerts, 55 degree F ambient.
Live View on full-time (it was so, so dark) and LCD was against body, not articulated. (Rookie move for astro.)
Shutter speed range 20" to 30".
ISO range 2500 to 3200.
So, after taking about 25 shots, I suddenly start getting roughly 25-second BUSY message on my LCD. After I finished my 5-frame pano, I lowered my ISO and shutter a tad, and the message went away. It was really acting like NR would behave, but NR was OFF. But then, without changing any settings, it happened a few more times -- randomly. I've taken a few hundred photos since that night, and no more BUSY message. I've been continuing to use the same SD card, but shooting at lower ISOs and shutter speeds.
I can't figure this out. Do any of you think it could be the SD card? I mean, like a faulty/iffy card? I don't know how the 60D firmware handles card writes (well, card write errors.) Anybody have any ideas?
Oh, here's the pano: https://flic.kr/p/VNorvm![]()
Thanks,
Doug
