On 6/10/17, I was photographing a mother elk and her calf in Firehole Canyon, Yellowstone. They were on the other side of the river from the road, on pretty steep ground. It's a pretty safe spot, but there's not much grass for mom. Eventually, mom led her calf to the water's edge. Calf laid down for a nap and mom decided to cross the river to an island which was lush with grass...
