True. He is from Houston so I guess so. Still I lived in southern GA for a while but that was more of a sweaty sack kind of place.

I just realize the sigma doesn't have a zoom lock.... now this may not be a deal breaker for me but it is a nice feature to have to lock it for carrying to ensure it doesn't prematurely loosen up. Some lenses don't need the lock however there's certainly peace of mind having one! I don't have as much issues with a zoom lock as I do Canon's lens hood lock: it doesn't seem to work too well. While hiking with the 16-35mm zoom attached to my 5D, I lost the lens hood! It was over $40 to replace that piece of plastic! Canon 5D mk IV
