Digital Camera Speed Challenge # 467 Water's Edge

The edge of a pond, river, ocean, puddle, ice cube, snowflake, any body of water. Creative shots welcome too!

The Challenge begins now, June 23rd and ends at noon on July 1st. Good luck!

CHALLENGE RULES:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, (not just DSLR)
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: See standard P.O.T.N. Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
6. Commenting: Please, NO COMMENTING DURING CHALLENGE feel free to comment in this thread after a winner is declared.
7. Content: Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.

Some notes re these challenges:

1. I see "likes" appearing during the challenges, but isn't this "commenting" - against the rules?

2. What's happened to the practice of judges naming not only the winner, but also second and third? Or maybe a brief comment on each entry? A little recognition encourages people to enter again.

I'd like to see comments as well, and plan to do so at the end of this round. I agree that we should strive to take those extra steps.

I have to apologize for the likes. I inadvertently liked one of the entries. Can you "unlike"? Not knowing how, I went ahead and liked them all just to be fair across the board. I agree though, we should refrain from any likes or comments till the competition is over. Not sure how that can be applied to those not participating in the competition.

I think Likes shouldn't be used but as Hye5 said, how do you stop those who aren't in the competition?

I agree that it's best to hold one's Likes until the winners have been announced. I Liked something by mistake once–forgot that it was in a challenge thread–and try to be careful about that now.

Naming runners-up not only encourages entering, it insures against scrambling to find a host if the #1 winner doesn't show up.
