I can't find the answer to this anywhere so I hope someone can help!

When using the EX430 flash in manual mode on my 7D II, I could simply adjust the power by pressing the (popup) flash button on the camera body then the camera wheel to increase/decrease. Very convenient!

Now that I'm using a 5D IV, there is obviously no on-board flash, so no flash button. I really hate using the +/- buttons on the flash itself (slow, small and too far recessed for my fat thumb). I can't find another way to control it from the camera.

Have you tried to use the flash menu build in the 5D4?

I was messing around in there, but it's still a pain to go thru the menus. Well, not horrible, but a lot more than just clicking one button.

I did notice the 430 III flash has a wheel instead of the horrible buttons. That would be nice. So, a possible upgrade in the near future.

There are more ways to customize the 5D4 buttons. For the example of 430II on camera, manual power adjustment from the camera menu, I would set a custom function to the "SET" button for "flash function settings". After the initial dial in M mode, and high light the "flash output level", all I have to do is to hit the SET button twice, then use the back wheel to adjust the manual power output.

Check out this 45 second demo..

Perfect!! Thanks! I didn't even think about this. Luckily I didn't set my SET button to anything yet, so this is great!

Thanks for the tip. I'd also missed this particular customization option. Really useful.
