I'm sure they'll be plenty left in stores and online, but this will leave SanDisk as the top choice for pros.

That's a bummer, I've always had great performance and no problems with my Lexar cards. Might have to grab a few more....

Yes, me too. Lexar has been my go to brand for a number of years. Sad to see them go.

That is a shame. I have had less problems with Lexar than the other brands. Hope that someone else buys them and continues the same quality.

Worst, it leaves Sony as the only maker of XQD cards, which is where a number of pro bodies were headed. It makes me wonder if the D820 was supposed to be XQD and if this will delay announcement/release of the body to revert to CF or to whatever alternative there is to XQD.

I'm trying to think of a company that might buy Lexar, but can't come up with any. For compact flash users this does not bode well, but how much longer will CFs be around anyway? SDs too, but they might stay around a little longer.

I haven't given it much thought but I have to think any company that's not got the name recognition in that space might grab them just for the name.
