(2 edits in all) | Aug 19, 2017 21:03 | #92 The DR handling on this seems pretty close to the 5D4, so that is good for a $550 body! Often during our shots for MLS listings, we will have situations that we need to show the outside with the indoors. This wasn't good, and was binned, but it shows the strength of a single shot. I have no idea of how many stops, but certainly more than 2. Each frame of the animation... Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

With ALO and Shadow slider, there is a some room. Canon RP with 24-240mm

I pushed up the shadows slider in DPP a bit (don't max it out, not good effects IMO), probably about 2 notches from far left. I then used the highlights/shadows tool in CS5 to bring this up the rest of the way, alot more control. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Did Canon add flash commander for firing remote flashes? Looks like Canon even gave bigger view finder to SL2 compared to Rebels. But they skimped on focusing system in order to match the price point. I wish it has more focus points or at least all cross type like t5i. I am seriously thinking about moving from 80d to sl2 to save on size and weight. SL2 makes more sense then M5. I was doing fine with t3i focusing system before. No lit AF points in AI servo in all points AF. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Interesting stuff! At least ISO 100 is pretty cool (and the SL2 seems to closely match the 80D in all charts, confirming that it uses the same sensor as the 80D). Aug 21, 2017 09:25 | #98 TeamSpeed wrote in post #18432627 No lit AF points in AI servo in all points AF. It doesn't matter much to me, I always select my AF point though. The viewfinder is pretty large for a Rebel, or a mini-Rebel. The SL1 had these AF point layout, so I expected that. It makes it a bit more difficult to shoot over the other cameras I use, but this is basically a backup to a backup, and will be our travel camera, so shots of the family on vacation, some animal shots, floral shots, food shots, etc. It is our "memories" body. For those that want to do more, you should, but it will be more work. Much like the 6D2 shooters that wanted more DR instead of less, they will be able to get high DR shots, but it will take more work and more post processing, thus a nuisance. Thanks TeamSpeed. I am assuming we need to track with manual center point and keep subject in the middle. Does it lit center focus point indicating subject in focus during servo tracking? Canon RP with 24-240mm

(2 edits in all) | Oct 25, 2017 10:26 | #103 Just remember that the archilles heel of the SL2 is its antiquated 9pt AF system. If you don't need that, or just use center point, then that shouldn't be too much an issue. If they had put a better AF system in it, I would have been willing to spend $100-200 more for it, personally, but it would then probably cannibalize the 77D sales (which I don't understand the purpose for anyways). I agree: why get a 77D if I can buy a 80D for the same or not much more money? CANON 6D - SONY A6000
