Got mine today and would love to show some images but my laptop went missing on Fri night on a Southwest flight.

From what I can see zooming in on some hand held shots on my 5d3
1/10
2.8
iso/1600

It is sharp. I hesitate to say it is as sharp as my Canon 70-200 2.8 V2, but center is awesome on my little screen. Far corners are still showing very well but some fall off. In the cross point AF points it seems to fair better than the nextr outer non cross AF point.

I will know more once I can see on a better screen.

Dustin Abbot's got his first set of IQ tests up

Looks like it's holding sharpness into the corners and has less of that almost hard-edged vignette.

Think I'll be picking this one up at Christmas.

Exif for both says Tamron 70-200 G2. That was my first thought, too. The framing seems TOO exact to be different lenses. Please clarify.

This one shows up as 24-70. Both of the photos in the 'comparison' above show as 70-200.

Thanks for doing this, but I don't get what it is supposed to mean. At least this comparison looks like two different lenses. The first post was very suggestive that the same lens was used for both shots. According to EXIF, that was the case.

If you mean the lens the answer would be no, my first version didn't drain the battery either. Hope that helps.
