A VERY rare occurrence, pointed the camera at my wife for a test shot, and she smiled and cooperated! That NEVER happens!

I went back and forth with that, never came across a review that didn’t have wonderful things to say about the Tammy G2 or that any difference justified the price difference of the Canon lens. I had the G1 which was good in it’s own right, and G2 blows the G1 away.

In the end, I traded gear into Adorama to make purchase and they discounted the Tammy on top of my trade where they couldn’t discount the Canon. Tamron $1050 vs $1650 for Canon

I just got this lens after an intense battle inside between the Canon 24-70 f2.8ii and this. At the end of the day this is a hobby for me and the $600 in savings, plus image stabilization was good enough for me to pick this lens. So far it's been great. Here is a recent shot with some rollers (I don't know how to properly shoot a rolling shot) that I think came out well.
