I have only had this lens for a few days, but so far very pleased. Compact size and reasonably light weight for a lens with this range. Needs lots of light, but I knew this going in. Very good build quality and fit and finish. I like the option of twist or push/pull zoom and both are very smooth. AF is very fast and locks on well. It will hunt some with small subjects and cluttered backgrounds. Very easy to set up Custom Functions and update firmware with the Sigma dock. I am using this lens on a Canon 6D and am very pleased with this combination. A major drawback to some would be the lack of a tripod ring, but as I plan on using this lens hand held 95% of the time was not a very big negative to me. Will update this review later, but as of now am very pleased with this lens, especially at the price point.

A couple of shots showing original and cropped version. Taken from approximately 30 feet away with a Canon 6D. ISO 3200, no noise reduction.

After having this lens for over a year I am more than impressed with it. Works well with my 70D, 6D and 6D MKII. It is my most used lens on a day to day basis. After a firmware update, it now allows lens corrections on my 6D MKII. Update did not include 6D or 70D. Great value and would definitely buy it again.

I recently got this lens to use on a Canon 90D. I did find a tripod ring but had to order it from China through Ebay. I'll post a review when I get it.

I bought a tripod ring from China from photoloving_dot_com, I think the brand name of the tripod ring was IShoot. Fit is excellent & very satisfied with the quality.

I got this lens two days ago. It is very sharp except at the short end - 100mm. Fortunately I already owned the Sigma calibration dock and used it to adjust the focusing at 100mm,, resulting in much improvement. I took both of my sample photos at around 300mm.

Here are a few more samples taken with my Sigma 100-400. They are of smoke from a fire in the Jemez mountains near Santa Fe, taken April 24, 2022.
