What an absolutely fantastic series!
Love these little birds, and they are so small and fast, they are among the hardest to capture in flight. Well done!

Regardless of some of the shortcomings you call out, these are some fantastic images, Steve!

In #2, you can just see the crab realizing 'NOPE! I'm outta here!' And just not getting a chance to execute the retreat ߙ

Rog, you are so right. The trick for me is to stay on my toes when these birds do nothing for so long. I've screwed up plenty, unfortunately no do overs.

Thanks Jake. They're so quick, during the attack I had my shutter speed way up and still got motion blur. I need to be set for hummingbirds during that kind of action.

Thank Eric. I felt bad for the crab, he was doing his best to go by without trouble. I'm guessing that was his first flight. :)
