Advertising fees for images?

Hello, POTN members! I've been asked to provide an estimate for images of a facility/building in a retirement community. I will be stopping by this afternoon to view the facility. I don't want to over/under charge for my work. Any suggestions on a reasonable fee or formula you have used to come up with your price? Thanks in advance!

You could always ask them what their budget is and if it sits well with you, you're good to go. If it doesn't, you could always try to negotiate it higher? I would be hesitant to rely on a 'formula' as pricing is such a unique proposition, from a $25.00 headshot to a $1 million ad campaign, every buyer has a budget to work with (even if they that *say* they don't).

From the client side, in my experience, there's generally a number or range that they have in mind. If you come substantially higher than that they're likely to look elsewhere.

Often potential clients do not have or will not disclose budget for a particular project. That leave it up to you to price yourself.

How many hours, max/min will the project take? What is your time worth to you per hour? What direct expenses do you anticipate? How much general overhead will you attribute to the project? That gives you a starting price that you can adjust for other factors like your enthusiasm for the project, your workload and the price of bottle of good red wine. Or beverage of choice.

Once you have your price the next step is selling it on the basis of the results you expect to deliver.
