My daughter found this in the yard and then was a willing hand model/photo assistant.

Back in the '80s when I worked for a NASA contractor in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, we had tons of those things on the sidewalk behind our offices.

I wasn't doing much photography with my 35mm SLRs by that time and had barely thought about macrophotography, so I got no photos.

I've occasionally been tempted to go back there on a weekend when nobody was around to see if they were still there.

I've seen quite a few crawling on the sidewalk while walking the dog. But I never thought to photograph one until my daughter picked one up yesterday.

I just spent 1/2 hour looking at snail trap videos on YouTube.

I may make one of the simple bottled water bottle traps to see if I can get some to photograph.

Since I don't have a garden and want to photograph them live, I'll only use enough beer to attract rather than drown them.

Wonderful capture.

Reminds me of my son when he was 2 or 3. Found a load of slugs and snails he "rescued" from the garden. He was literally covered in slug-slime! Handed him off to mum to clean up. ;)

Having one in your hand has got to be better than stepping on it barefooted.
