Hi All,

I do lots of long exposure shots and I use my viewfinder cover all the time.
You know that rubber thing that is on the Canon strap that covers the viewfinder blocking out additional light from getting in.

I don't use the Canon strap anymore and I took that off the strap and had it attached my to my remote so I would always have it with me when I use the remote, which is generally when I do long exposure.

However, I have lost my remote, which is no big deal because it is a cheapy, but I can't find anyone selling the replacement viewfinder cover.

Anyone know of any website that sells them?
I don't care if it's a 3rd party brand, and honestly i prefer that is is and to buy them in bulk just incase.

I tried looking for the on Amazon, B&H, adaroma, and other usual places, but no luck so far.
I did find couple Nikon ones, but nothing that fits Canon.

Please let me know if you guys knows of any places that might sell them.

Thanks!

PS - talking about this thing:

Seems people will buy a 3rd party eyepiece and then cover the opening with tape.

There are quite a few on ebay.uk so I would expect there should also be some available on ebay in the USA as well.

I am able to find the cup, but I can't seem to find the cover... I'm not sure UK market is that much different from US market, but man I might have to resort to making my own... thanks!

yeah was trying to avoid making my own as I'm not all that crafty, but might be what I have to do if I can't find them... I don't want to buy a new strap just for a cheap rubber piece either...

Lots on eBay. Use the search terms "canon eyepiece cover" and chose based on model. Get two, don't ask me why.

Also check http://www.johnbirchphotography.com …yepeice-blind-5d-markiii/ (external link) if you want to make something. Personally I found that an old style push on lens cap "hangs" nicely on my viewfinder and works well.

When I created my 3D printed eyecup extender, a few people requested a solid piece. I still haven't received much request for it.

However, here is another one that uses a piece of black plastic - https://www.sensorgraphy.net …e-cover-viewfinder-cover/ (external link)

I have a few pieces of gaff tape on my tripod legs. I just use it when I need it. Not pretty but it works.
