The 70D has defects that Canon has been aware of since its release, and refused to address. If my post saves one person from wasting $599, I'll consider that a job well done.

Agreed and it's not an issue that impacts each one. Have not experienced any bounce flash issues with mine and been nothing but pleased with the 70D shooting everything from portraits to landscapes to bird in flight. Sorry, I was on my phone earlier. Bounce flash was the only problem I had with my 70D. To be sure, not all (I don't think even most) bodies had that problem. It matter HUGE to me for two reasons: I do a lot of bounce flash. Canon twice told me the camera had a problem (I documented it thoroughly), and twice refused to fix it. Lots of people used the 70D without issue. I just wasn't one of them.
