I had this place on my list long before I arrived in NZ. It's got to be one of the most photographed trees in the world (and for good reason!).

It certainly met, if not exceeded, my expectations! Though I was sort of hoping for beautiful clouds to create a very colorful sunrise/sunset ;)

When did you get this shot? We were there for a few days in June and the water level was so low that you could walk out to the tree. It was pretty disappointing.

This was from March. Looks like indeed the water level was higher in March, but not TOO much. If you see in the video, my last shot has some exposed rocks because the water level was lower that morning

I like 'em both.... nicely done!

you don't get that sort of loveliness at this end of the country...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Both are nice. I like the light more in the second one.

Yeah it was a really beautiful sunrise... that morning glow just lit up the tree!

Kaitlyn, thanks for sharing the wonderful pics and the video presentation. I have wondered, for years, what context that tree shared with the waters surrounding it. This helped put it all into perspective.
