Why not just get an inexpensive tap to fix the threads?

I'd take them up on the offer for a new boom and then turn around and sell it on Craigslist or to a friend.

One option is to get a M6 tap and repair the thread in the knob.

Since you know its M6, just search a female M6 nylon knob.

Example: LINK (external link)

I'm sure you could find it cheaper, this one was just free shipping.

Very best,

I'm not sure exactly what you need but just search Amazon for M6 wing nut or bolt. I am pretty sure they have what you need.

Did you talk to Edward? I am really surprised that he didn't just drop one in the mail to you. If you haven't talked to Edward, call again and ask for him or for him to call you back. Tell him you are a member of POTN and another member said you should call him.

His customer service has been superb. I can't imagine that he would let you be blown off like that.

I agree with calling Edward, he is very customer oriented.

Glad you have it worked out. Typically even emailng Ed and including your phone number will result in him giving you a quick call.
