Guys,

Bought a new G7X Mark II for my holiday, arrived only a few days before so did not really get time to know the camera well. On the second day of the holiday the camera was dropped quite hard. It has a couple of scratches on it, but nothing that bad at all, was really impressed actually as to the build quality. This morning I thought I would just do a quick focus check to see if things are okay and have noticed something that does not look good, but I am not sure if it was doing this before?!

When looking through the rear screen, everything looks VERY sharp in focus, but when I press the shutter half way down to focus, the image is suddenly less sharp and this is the image the camera records. So my question to other more experienced G7X Mark II owners, is this normal or has the camera been damaged internally?

I guess the next question is, if the camera is damaged does anyone know if Canon offer a repair service for compacts?

Many thanks,

Ian.

I own a G7X MII as well and it sounds like there is some damage if that is what you are getting as far as focus goes.

Canon offers full repair service for the G7X. Good luck.
