Mine is the all black one with rim brakes and Dura Ace. It’s at home waiting for me to assemble it here in a few when I leave work.

Off topic so I'll leave it at this, that's awesome, man. Congrats. That's an amazing ride. Too bad you are in Denver or I'd have to see it in person since a Canyon in the US is rare at this stage in the game.

I swore I was passing on this cam due to the sensor not having the improved DR that I thought it would. With the deals out there right now though, I'm wavering. Do any of you use this for action? I would primarily use my 7D II for action, but for night games, I'd love to see what this thing can do at higher ISOs. I have to shoot my 7D at 6400, and that's still a bit underexposed. I primarily use center point only... Is the center on this cam "good enough"? I'm used to an amazingly high keeper rate with my 7DII/100-400LII combo, so this needs to be pretty darn good.

Why don't you consider getting a faster lens, say the sigma 120-300 f2.8 and get 2 extra stops of light while still keeping 10FPS? I've seen non-sport OS go for $1500-1700.

The primary use for this camera will not be sports. That's just a small part. I really just want a good full-frame camera that "can" do sports if I need it to. I LOVE my 7DII and my 100-400, and will still use them primarily when shooting sports. Also, I've had the 120-300 in the past and wasn't too thrilled with it, though I know the new one is supposed to be better. If I get a new lens for night sports, it will be the 70-200 IS II.

I'll be testing it out on basketball soon (I shoot youth sports). I used an 80D last year with pretty good results, although I don't enlarge many of my shots. Almost all of mine are sold to parents as 4"x 6" prints. I would still like to have better high ISO capabilities. I think the highest ISO I shot last year was 6400.

Considering that the 6DII autofocus is similar to the 80D, I'm hoping that it will perform well enough to satisfy me. I'm also looking forward to using my 70-200 II on a full frame since it's a little tight for basketball on a crop. I'm hoping that the focus points aren't all too close to the center of the frame - I won't know until I try.

I had decided to wait until I could afford a 5D IV or a used 1DX, which meant that I would be using the 80D this season. However, this is such a good deal, I decided to try it out. I figure that if the 6DII doesn't meet my needs, I'll be able to sell it for little loss, if any, later this winter.

I'd save and go for the 5d4. Better AF system with points spread MUCH further across the frame, even more resolution for reframing/cropping ability, and much better DR at low ISO for better IQ of images in tough lighting conditions for non-sport work.

Yep. The more I read and study on this, the more I'm inclined to stand pat.

With any such comparison, it has no meaning until you define the difference in usage. A camera/sensor does not do anything by itself. The same lens does different things when used with different sensor sizes to create the "image" referred to in "IQ", when you judge the "IQ" of cameras at a given ISO. The fact is, a 1.6x crop from the 6D2 is only better than the 7D2 in one regard; it has slightly better photon noise and color separation at ISOs and in tonal ranges that are photon-noise dominated, like most of base ISO, and high-key photos at medium-high ISOs, like maybe up to 4000. Go deeper into the shadows, or to very high ISOs, and the slightly better color filters and QE or the 6D2 get lost in the noise. In the deep shadows of base ISO, a 1.6x crop from the 6D2 has a lot more noise than the 7D2! So does the crop from any FF Canon except the 5D4 and 1DxII.

I may sound like a broken record, but "A larger sensor does not get all of its alleged noise performance all by itself; it needs a larger lens to get that, for the same image, unless you are shooting Av mode at base ISO with virtually unlimited light and no need for shutter speed".

No one with an APS-C should drool over a FF camera and its better performance at the same ISO, unless they are also drooling over wider FOVs, and/or shallower DOFs, which may require drooled-over larger lenses for the same FOV.

Well said and usually overlooked by those rushing to FF.

I rented a Sony A7r2 recently, along with a Canon 16-35 f/4L and a Metabones IV adapter to do a direct comparison between that combo and my Canon 10-22 on my 7D2 for landscape scenes (Shenandoah NP, equivalent FOV). The Sony/Canon combo is quite capable of taking outstanding RAW images at base ISO that are, especially in demanding lighting, a bit better than the 7D2. However, using a borrowed Canon 80D at base ISO with the 10-22, the difference between the Sony/Canon RAW and the 80D/Canon RAW is much narrower.

Ordered a refurb 80D yesterday when Canon dropped the price to $679 with the 18-55 kit lens (i'll find some use for it). Spending the rest of any 'upgrade' funds on quality glass (such as the new 100-400 L, ideal air-show lens) and perhaps one or two others.
