Just started my journey with FF. I only have Canon 50mm STM and 100mm f/2 primes. Planning to sell aps-c gear and get 24-105mm v1 as a general purpose lens. Until then, I have to live with 50mm STM. High iso performance is the big difference compared to 80d,

ISO 10000,

I am not able to set AEL and AF point button to zoom in and zoom out? Where are these settings. These are on by default with my previous cameras.

Thanks

Thanks, looking forward to playing with it. The 400mm F/5.6 has served me well at 1:00 kick offs (with the 7D). It's also done "OK" at night with the 6D Mark l. I am hoping (based on what I've heard & read) that it will be better with the ISO capabilities of the Mark ll. Won't know for sure until next season, unless we have a playoff game at home because our next home game is with the Bengals w/ a 1:00 kickoff. Might even use it with the 7D for a little extra reach.

I've already read it all over the last couple of months while deciding between the Mark l & Mark ll. From what I've read, the only negative thing that might affect me is the allegedly poor DR at lower ISO. I will be using it mostly at 1600 ISO & higher, so even if this is true about the Mark ll it shouldn't really impact my shooting.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Help,,,had my 6dmkii for a few days now,,am sure I tried the RC-6 remote shutter release { 2 of them } and they worked. To-day can't get either of them to work. They both work on my other 2 Canon cameras . I know they do not work on the C setting of the three,,,just the 10 and 2 sec settings. Any ideals ? This has me stumped .

I think you need the BR-E1 bluetooth remote. I use it with the M50. The RC-6 works with the old 6D.

The specs on the RC-6 shows it works with 6dmkii also,,,,and as stated am sure they worked when I tested when first got the 6Dmkii. Something happening here,,,what it is I am just not sure,,!

Well I finally jumped into the full-frame mix. I traded my Canon 60D in for a 6D Mark ii. I had 2 main lenses at the time a Canon EF 24-70mm F2.8L I and an Canon EF-S 18-200mm F3.5/5.6. I kept the 24-70mm F2.8L but of course the 18-200mm had to go being an EF-S lens so I traded it in for a Canon 70-200 F4L non-is and I will use an Canon extender 2x iii on it to give more reach when required. I'm looking forward to a couple vacations coming up going to the Caribbean in February and Vegas in May so lots of great photo opportunities to gear up for

Both of them work fine with the T3i & 7D mkii. Neither of them work with my 6D mkii,,,,,they did when I first got the 6d just over a week ago. It mentions about bluetooth having to be turned on,,,but this would be for the bluetooth transmitters,,,not the rc-6. Bluetooth or wifi on or off makes no difference,,,it won't work. didn't have time to play with it to-day,,,will have to brain storm it to-morrow.

Just a quick question about the Mark ll. The settings are very much the same as the Mark l, so not all that difficult. I shoot Al Servo, focus tracking, back button focus, and only use the 1 center focusing point. I've discovered how to turn all other focus points "off", but I like the center point to light up to confirm focus. Can someone here tell me how to please?? I'm thinking it's something simple I just can't seem to find it. Thank you!

You zoom in and out using the wheel behind the shutter release. Not sure you can change that. The exposure lock button can be set for some other things, but that is not one of them.

6D, 6DII, 70D, 80D, R10, RP, Lumix DC-FZ80 and a bag full of lenses.

Thanks for the help. I will try with wheel behind the shutter release. I remember using 2 button on back top right corner for zooming in and out on 80d. Canon even printed + and - magnifying glass symbols for these buttons.
