Due to the angle of view the jar seems to be two dimensional. This might have been the concept but in general most of the time we try to show depth in the pics.

It has a good idea, but the follow through fell a little flat. Maybe try a 45-degree angle next time? Or straight down on the scene?

Nice pic, i would suggest you to try using on main light and several small "reflectors" on different sides of the future shots. For example:
One main light allows you create depth and dimension in the images.
