All, will the TTL flash operate the same and with same results whether the TTL flash is on camera or off camera? Whether the flash is a Canon 430 EX ii or a Godox V860CII? (When off camera, I would be using the X1T-C.

I dont care if the difference, if any, is small...I am only trying to understand if there was a difference, it could be great enough and that I should seek out the what and why's of that difference.

Thanks

Camera's: 70D, G12 | Len's: 18-135mm IS STM, 55-250mm IS STM, 50mm f/1.8 II | Photos:flickr (external link)

It will be different under some circumstances - for a start, Canon doesn't use reported-achieved-focused-distance when the Speedlites are off-camera.

But ETTL II is usually still highly useable off camera. Given that it's based on a reflected pre-flash light tech., then it's totally up to the photographer to asses the scene for both tone and reflectivity and use global FEC accordingly. (Based on experience with Odin (originals), anyway . . )
