If you are only using the "computer" to look at the image, not any furhter editing, you win a lot in performance if you store a RAW on one card and a JPEG on the other, and then only transfer the jpeg to the computer. I typically save a small, low quality jpeg for that purpose. It's still good enough to fill the screen on my computer.
If you have only one card, you store both on the same, obviously.
If you want to use it like this, then I find FTP transfer to be better than EOS Utilities. FTP is using power only when transmitting.
But if you want real-time viewing on the computer, to use it as a rangefinder, then EOS Utilities is a solution.
