I'm hoping it's another really, really good Sony sensor with Nikon's better processing "Nikon confirmed that the D850's sensor is entirely their own design, vs. an off-the-shelf unit from a sensor manufacturer."

It is interesting that they went back to designing the sensors themselves. I wonder if Sony is cutting them off. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I haven't recommended them for some time then they seemed to turn things around a bit with the 80D and 5DIV. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

THe D810 was $3300 when introduced I think but can be had for under $2k which may be why some are comparing the 6DII to the D800 series. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

The D750 will get an update to compete with the 5D4 This is a replacement for the D810 And i think this is great news for the canon camp Canon will update the 5DS with new sensor technology and a better AF. The Nikon D850 is going to be a fantastic camera for Nikon shooters Canon will have to answer.....Which will be great for the canon camp The question is..how long for an answer? Gear, New and Old! Canon needs to stop intentionally crippling its cameras to "protect" sales of others in silly ways. Canon also feels very sluggish to respond to things sometimes... I love the D850.. Its probably the one camera I can legit find no complaint with for me... 45mp FF? That easily gives the same pixel density as my 7DII, The AF is outstanding, 9fps? I'll take it. Tilt flip screen? yes please. That said, on the other side, Nikon has had some problems with QC lately on new models, D600 and D800 both had problems which were the bigger reasons for the D610 and D810. Even the replacements had issues. So its not all roses on their side. But it smells like roses if you put on the rose colored glasses Feel free to not "Like" any of my photos. However, it also important to note that the D850 is only a paper camera. Everything looks good on paper, even the 6DII. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

You are right, the 6DII is not in the same league as the D8xx series cameras but the 6DII is a great example of a company totally screwing up an upgrade. The 6D was a great camera on its own and the expectation was (at least from me) that the 6DII would an improvement and what did we get? A recycled sensor, a recycled AF, a flippy screen, and a few bells and whistles. The camera is a joke for 5 years of development. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
